(Obstetrics & Gynaecology)
Programme type: Self paced
Start date: Immediately upon enrollment.
Duration: 3 – 6 months.

- Registered Ayurvedic Medical Practitioners.
What do you learn?
- Theoretical and practical review of common Gynaecological and Obstetric ailments presented to the Ayurveda Practitioner
- Understanding Nidana (Aetiology) and Samprapti (Pathology) in the light of Chikitsa (Treatment), in the purview of Prasootitantra & Striroga.
- OP based prescription oriented training with special reference to Infertility and PCOD treatment.
- Practical considerations of OP and IP based treatments, with hands on training in various procedures.
- Review of the significant Yogas used in this Speciality.
Programme type: Participants are assigned on rotation to all departments under Senior Consultant Physicians.
Start date: Immediately upon enrollment.
Duration: As instructed by associated Academic institutions or as per requirement of the Intern.

What do you learn?
- Module 1: Ayurveda Shastraparichaya – introduces the candidate to the basics of Ayurveda including the Tridosha Siddhanta, definition of Swasthya (Health), Roga (Disease), technical terms used, treatment procedures including Panchakarma.
- Module 2: Panchakarma Therapy Room – introduces him to the workings of a Panchakarma theatre, how best to set it for maximum efficiency and patient comfort.
- Module 3: Ayurveda Karma Parichaya – intends to give him hands-on training in the various therapeutic procedures, administering medication and general patient care and assistance.
Programme type: Curriculum based, with Pre-scheduled Sessions.

Kayachikitsa / General Medicine & Manoroga Chikitsa
- Module 1: Acute & Chronic GIT disorders like Colic, Diarrhoea, Peptic Ulcer, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease, Anemia, Liver and Spleen pathologies, Anemia etc.
- Module 2: Inflammatory Joint disorders like Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Gout, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus etc., Non-inflammatory Joint disorders like Osteoarthritis.
- Module 3: Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Hyperinsulinemia, Thyroid disorders, Obesity, Hormonal dysfunction, Metabolic syndrome, Autoimmune disorders.
- Module 4: Acute and Chronic Allergic conditions, Cough, Asthma, Skin conditions, General immunity, Male & Female Infertility, Chronic fatigue, Sleeplessness.
- Module 5: Mood disorders, Bipolar disorders, Schizophrenia, Psychosomatic Disorders, Sleep Disorders, Learning Disabilities in Children etc.
Panchakarma & Other Ayurvedic Therapeutic Procedures
- Module 1: Theoretical aspects of Panchakarma, Indications, Contra-indication, Benefits, Practical Aspects (Nasyam, Vamanam, Virechanam, Kashayavasti, Tailavasti and special Keraleeya procedures).
- Module 2: Demonstration Classes and Practical Sessions.
Prasootitantra & Streeroga (Obstetrics & Gynaecology)
- Module 1: Common Gynaecological complaints presenting in the Ayurveda OP – UTI & Pelvic Inflammatory diseases, Infection of Vagina, Cervix and Uterus; Prolapse of Pelvic organs, Amenorrhoea, Dysmenorrhoea, Menorrhagia, Incontinence, Premenstrual Syndrome, Post-Menopausal Syndrome.
- Module 2: Infertility with PCOD/ Endometriosis/ Fibroids, Pre & Post Natal Care.
- Module 3: Demonstration Classes and Practical sessions (Uttaravasthi, Douche and Local procedures).
Shalakya Tantra and Nethra Roga (ENT & Eye diseases)
- Module 1: Common ENT Presentations in the Ayurveda OP, Meniere’s Disease, Hearing loss, Recurrent Laryngitis, Tonsillitis, Nasal Polyp etc.
- Module 2: Common Eye Pathologies presenting in the Ayurveda OP like Myopia, Hypermetropia, Cataract, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, CVO, CAO, CSR, Optic Nerve Pathologies etc.
- Module 3:Demonstration Classes & Practical Sessions (Application of Ophthalmological Diagnostic tools, Anjanam, Aschyotanam, Sekam, Pindi, Bidalakam, Karnapoornam, Sekam etc.)
Shalyatantra & Physiotherapy
- Module 1: Inflammatory and Non-inflammatory Joint disorders, Varicose veins; Hemorrhoids, Fistula, Fissure, Warts and Corns, Wound Management, Dislocations & Fracture Management.
- Module 2: Demonstration Classes & Practical Sessions (Jalookavacharanam, Prachanam, Agnikarma, Ksharasootra Application).
- Module 3: Marma manipulations & Physiotherapy.
Balachikitsa (Paediatrics)
- Module 1: Common ailments presenting in the Ayurveda OP like Fever, HFMD, Breathing difficulty, Wheezing & Asthma, Chest congestion, Cough, Skin conditions like Atopic Eczema, Fungal infections, Worms, Anemia, Dyspepsia, Diarrhoea, Constipation etc.
- Module 2: Congenital Anomalies, Developmental disorders and Delay in milestones, Nutritional deficiencies, Learning disabilities and Behavioral disorders.
Ayurvedic Cosmetology & Therapeutic Yoga
- Module1:Cosmetology, Ayurvedic perspective Application of Ayurvedic fundamental principles in Cosmetology, Skin care, Hair, Teeth & Nail care, Acne, Pigmentation, Callosity etc.
- Module 2: Demonstration Classes & Practical Sessions.
- Module 3: Basic Yoga Postures and their therapeutic benefits.
Hospital management & Allied Aspects
- Module 1: Patient Care, Safety and Assessment of Quality, Management of Medication & Procedures, How to start & manage your own practice.
- Module 2: Infrastructure & Human Resource Management, Information Management and Documentation including Case Sheet Management, obtaining consent, Patients’ right education.
Pharmacy visit
The participants shall have a guided tour of the Sitaram factory premises, gain first hand knowledge about the various aspects of production, quality control, marketing and management.
